I have been unfortunately forced by Rendor to create this page for those of you out there who are so out of touch with reality that you do not even grasp the technologies of our era. At any rate, since I am required to do this, I might as well begin explaining. What follows is a sickenly simplified explanation of many of the major technologies in the world today. Now hurry up and read it so my time won't feel so wasted.

Transportation

Hover Bike

Hoverbikes are one-beast vehicles that hover about 1' off the ground. Because of their high maneuverability, fast acceleration and speed, and relatively low cost, they are COURAGE's main vehicles. Every member is issued one. Members are encouraged to maintain their bikes well, as replacements will be unlikely.

Hover Car

Although they come in many variations, hovercars are basically average multi-passenger vehicles, generally used by civilians. Like hover bikes, they hover 1' off the ground and can travel at comparable speed. Their increased size, however, hampers maneuvarability and acceleration.

Scoutspeeder

These vehicles, driven exclusively by the Grand Emperor's Troops, are one or two-beast vehicles that can travel up to 20 feet in the air. They are modual, and can be equiped with various instruments and armanents based on the task at hand. Due to the addition of armor, these vehicles tend to travel slightly slower than most hoverbikes and hovercars. However, some are now equiped with a booster engine that allows Scoutspeeders to gain a substantial increase in speed, but at the cost of extra fuel to compensate for the extra power needed. COURAGE has a stolen scoutspeeder in the vehicle bay.

Equipment

Palmcom

A palm-sized computer consisting of a LCD screen, microphone, and speaker. The computer can be completely run by voice recognition, or can be hooked up to an input device for manual communication with the computer. The screen is usually covered by a flip top to protect it from scratches. COURAGE palmcoms are also equipped to communicate to other palmcoms over any distance, including the transmission of audio and video.

Titan Armor

A suit of armor used by the Grand Emperor's troops. Built of, for lack of a better word, tough stuff, the Titan Armor can protect its wearer from many kinds of physical damage, including bullets. Such mundane attacks may still penetrate the armor, but it is highly unlikely. Even more modern means, such as lasers and vibroweapons, may still be prevented by the armor. These high-tech attacks usually succeed more than they fail, however. The suit is very rigid, and may hamper mobility. Some units prefer the Titan Vest, which allows more movement in its wearer.

Energy Shield System (ESS)

Once no more than a rumor, the Energy Shield System is very real, and in the Grand Emperor's hands. It has the ability to dissipate all kinds of energy-based attacks. It is fortunately not resistant to physical attacks, however, thus not making the user of the invention completely invincible. Its inventor, Rad Thorn, has commited suicide, and his plans, if any, have not been found. Only a few prototypes remain in the Grand Emperor's military.

Weapons

Standard Issue (SI) Laser Pistol

Quite possibly the most common weapon in the world. Purchase of these pistols are completely legal, although they can only stun an opponent (and cause quite a bit of temporary pain). The possibility of being killed by an SI Pistol is extremely low.

Military Issue (MI) Laser Pistol

Similar in design to the SI Laser Pistol, but also has the ability to emit a lethal laser blast if set on the proper setting. True to its name, this pistol is only available to the Grand Emperor's military personnel. Luckily, we have been able to obtain quite a few off the black market.

Repeater

Also a military only weapon, the Repeater is the rifle version of the MI Laser Pistol. In addition to increased size, the Repeater can rapidly fire laser bolts at an intense rate. Early models of this weapon were known to overheat and even burn the hands of the user. Improved cooling and thermo-resistant plastic have helped remedy the problem in newer editions.

RAM Technology

Introduced to use by a now deceased defector of the Emperor, RAM (Rapidly Advanced Molecules) technology and its uses remain quite a mystery to us. The basic premise is that molecules are so agitated that they release an incredible burst of energy that can propel many kinds of objects very far and insanely fast. Theoretically, it could be used to power guns, crossbows, and even jump boots. We have not thoroughly tested any of this, however.

Vibro-Blade

Vibro-blades come in various forms, from knives all the way to axes. They work by causing the molecules on the edges of the blade to move very fast. This vibrating allows cutting through all but the strongest surfaces. Blades made for construction or other business work are legal, but require permits. Actual weapons made as Vibro-Blades (like a Vibro-Sword) are utterly illegal, but they are quite common in the black market, and pop up in the Grand Emperor's military from time to time.

Slug Throwers

Despite being long antiquated by newer laser firing weapons and can no longer be found being sold on the mass market, slug-throwers may still be found in use by small rag-tag bands of thieves, rebels, and the infamous road bandits. They rely on igniting gun powder to fire a projectile at high speeds. They range in size from handguns to rifles, some firing single rounds and others firing with an automatic clip. Titan Armor protect greatly from these, but the impact of bullets could still injure or possibly kill.

Krey Shields

The Krey Shield is an odd item introduced to us by Celiek Warfurrow. It can absorb laser shots and store the energy. By pressing a button on the back, all of the stored energy will release, blasting a massive amount of electricity that could prove fatal to anyone close by. The blast also disorients and short circuits nearby electronic machinery. However, if too much energy is held within the shield, it will explode, making it tricky and dangerous to use. It can take a bit of abuse from other vibro-weapons, but not much, and physical strikes may cause the device to explode.
